What is “fat”? Fat is fat that the body cannot metabolize—that is, fat that the body can absorb but cannot digest, so it simply accumulates. Of course, part of “fat” is also “wastewater.” In other words, fat is composed of a combination of fat and wastewater. “Waste water” is simply waste water that hasn’t been expelled; eliminating dampness is sufficient. Let’s focus on analyzing this fat. Fat comes from food. After being broken down by insulin, it is absorbed and utilized by the body. Don’t think of insulin as merely a substance that breaks down sugar—it’s a general term for a mixture of enzymes, including amylase (which breaks down starch), protease (which breaks down protein), and lipase (which breaks down fat). Therefore, once fat is processed by lipase, it is absorbed and utilized by the body. But what happens when the body doesn’t need that much fat? It can only be excreted through the kidneys and intestines. If the body processes some of it, the unprocessed portion accumulates in the body. This type of obesity is generally localized, such as around the abdomen. If most of it remains unprocessed and accumulates throughout the body, this type of obesity is generally generalized. There you have it—the physiological logic behind obesity.
